What does it involve and when are sessions?

• A 45-minute live design session every Monday
• A weekly design task that will be submitted every Friday

The Ivy Design Club teaches learners to deliver an intended message without saying a word: De-
signers communicate using effective colour, strategic imagery and typography.

Competitions:

The Design Club runs Competitions monthly, where the Designers will be tasked with a Client
Briefing and Designers will have to design a post or advert that includes all the relevant design
specs. Each month a winner is announced as the Best Designer for that given competition.

What you will need?

• Laptop
• The following free-to-use software:
• Inscape: Vector graphics editor, similar to Adobe Illustrator
• Gimp: Raster graphics editor, similar to Adobe Photoshop

How to Join?

• Set some time aside and create a collage of 5 things you feel make up a big part of your
life and future aspirations. The collage must include 70% image and 30% text – the text
should sell yourself as a brand. For example, I spend about 1 hour a day doing yoga. I am
very active and always find new ways to stay active and fit because it contributes to a
healthy mindset and school productivity.
