Register to be a part of the Ivy Academy chess competitions and stand a chance to climb the

          ranks and become the best chess player in Ivy Academy. This competition is open to all
          students, Ivy Academy students sign up for free.


          Want to sign up and reserve your spot in the chess club?


          •       Head over to http://lichess.org/signup  and register your account, fill in the username,
                  password and email fields.
          •       You’ll then receive an email to verify your registration.
          •       Follow the link that you received via email
          •       Sign in with your username and password.
          •       You will then be redirected you to your profile’s dashboard.
          •       Start improving your chess skills and take part in the resources that are already uploaded
                  on the dash-board of lichess.org.
          •       Remember: Ivy Academy students sign up for FREE
          •       Non-Ivy students pay R500 a month

          Please note this will not include the optional fees payable to Chess SA and Tshwane Chess.


          Once you have registered and created an account, you’ll need to join the Ivy Academy Chess
          Club:


          •       Search for “Ivy Academy chess club”
          •       Request to join by providing a reason as to why you want to join i.e.: “I want to become a
                  chess master!”
          •       Your request will then be processed and accepted
          •       Once accepted, you will receive the password for the club from the team leader
          •       You’re now a part of the club!


          You can now view any up-coming competitions, other members activity or even communicate
          with members in a supervised personalized chat room. The team captain can also create an
          arena, where group members can practice or play actual games or challenge others in your
          team to play against you.


          How will your progress and improvements be monitored?

          All games played (won or loss) on Lichess.org can be retrieved and be reviewed. Statistics can
          be gathered showing you win and loss percentages. Standings in the tournaments you enter and
          take part in can be retrieved and all games that took place can be analysed and reviewed. All
          the standard reporting that is already implemented by Ivy Academy will also be implemented by
          the chess course. That means that the Teams live sessions as well as the short quiz will be
          mandatory.
